We are currently making a difference with an “Adopt a Street” campaign. The belief is that most people want to make contribute in some way but maybe don’t know how or think they don’t have time. With the adopt a street program we are looking for volunteers to adopt just their own street. We are looking for code violations, fire hazards, trash, graffiti, and other disturbances and looking for the solutions. Sign up today to enlist the citizens associations help in your neighborhood.
We are currently working hard to get a dog park in Spring Valley. In specific Lamar Park. This is a large park that is under utilized by families and over utilized for suspect behavior. The county has done surveys and concluded that a dog park is needed in Spring Valley and the citizens will use it. Lamar Park was choosen as the location and has been approved by various authorities. It is also believed that with the increased sense of security people feel with their dogs, usage will go up tremendously for the park in general contributing to a more used and safer park.
As of 11/25/11 there is no county funding for the park and we can use your help. By signing the online petition below, you can help secure larger grants from state, federal, and corporate sources (such as Petco).

We are coordinating trash cleanups and graffiti paint outs around Spring Valley, helping to organize neighborhood watches with help from the Sheriffs Department, hosting meetings giving citizens a chance to voice their concerns and recieve useful information, hosting events through out town, and making our voice heard.
We hold monthly meetings to discuss issues concerning Spring Valley and its citizens. Our next meeting is going to be at the Cali Comfort for our Annual Fund Raiser. January’s meeting is going to involve Otay Water and their plans to put a desalinazation plant up in Rosarita supplying water to San Diego.
Spring Valley Citizens Association meetings are held the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM at the San Miguel Firehouse 2850 Via Orange Way.
Every meeting we have a featured speaker and a representative present from Congresswoman Susan Davis’s, Congressmen Hunter, and Assemblymen Block’s offices to keep us up to date on local politics and bring your concerns back to them.
